Don't faint everyone! We have a slow night here at work tonight so I was able to do my reading.
Here goes for my first ever book blog.
I found the intro regarding 9/11 extremely interesting. I never new about the steel Cross. I also never new about the code shared by the police and firefighters. I was impressed. What impressed me was that they wanted the priest to bless the fallen person and the spot where he was found. I guess what surprises me is that not everyone is a Catholic yet they reached out to the priests for the blessings. This just touched me as very moving and beautiful. I thought it wonderful that the Sisters did so much praying also. I wonder how many people were converted because of these wonderful christians?
Regarding Chapter 1: Pray Always. Jesus Did!
This chapter just confirms how much I enjoy going to Adoration. The hour I spend flies by. At times my relief doesn't show up and I end up doing an extra hour. It seems like such a short time. When I first started doing this 2 years ago, I sometimes would fall asleep. When I would awaken I would feel extremely bad, like I let the Lord down. All I could think of was when He told the Apositles "Couldn't you even watch with Me for one hour".
I never realised how many purposes or themes the Lord's prayers had. After reading the examples, I will now notice them when reading the Bible.
Regarding Chapter 2: Have You Had Your Hour of Power Today? The Importance of Making a Holy Hour
This chapter also confirms how important an hour of Adoration is to me. I do feel rejuvinated. If I have a pressing problem, I bring it to the Lord and try to follow what pops into my head. I think we have it pretty easy when trying to do extra Adoration time as we have many churches in our area and hopefully we can find one offering some Adoration time.
Adoration has helped me to face some very difficult issues with a co-worker who I believe is a Fundmentalist. Whenever he gets after me regarding my religion, I pray extra hard especially at Adoration. I was able to respond to a couple of his allegations regarding the Church and he has not approached me at all this week regarding religion at all. I really feel the Lord working double time in this part of my life.
All in all, I am really enjoying this book. I can relate to quite a bit and am open to learn even more. I find it extremely easy to read and understand. As I am not a very fast reader, I was impressed that I flew through these chapters and can't wait to read more.

It is great that you are already making time for a regular Holy Hour. It will be interesting to see if this is a new concept for some of the bloggers.
I am enjoying the short chapters that are each dwelling on a specific theme.
So glad that you are now able to blog. Ruth
