Hi Friends:)
Well here goes...trust me, my blogs will not be at all like Ruth's but if I don't give it a try I won't get anything out of this blog.So here goes!
When reading about Fr. Apostoli's experience during the crisis of 9/11 I realized the GOOD that comes from tragedy. Even though many lost their lives many were drawn closer to our Lord. When Fr. said that " the firefighters went in together and they came out together" it brought to mind that we are never alone. God is always with us. These firefighters and all the volunteers were willing to give up their lives for others..as Jesus did for us..John 15:13 "Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for hie friends". Once again, especially at this time of year, during Lent, we need to remember that Jesus suffered greatly and finally gave his life that we should live.
The Steel Cross at the entrance way to Ground Zero reminds us all that even in the face of tragedies , small or large we have our Savior walking with us at our side to help us through anything we must face..once again, we are not alone!
If we do not feel close to our Heavenly Father we need to"talk " to Him more through prayer. By prayer we will grow closer to Jesus and Mother Mary, just as we grow closer to our friends by talking and getting to know them better.
Always we must thank him for all He does. We need to pray for intercession, forgiveness and trust. Jesus spent many hours and days in prayer setting an example for us to follow. We must pray....ALWAYS.
Many Blessings

Thanks for posting and helping us get this going. I know the first few times posting is often tough because we tend to compare ourselves with each other rather than seeing ourselves with unique gifts and having unique insights. I really look forward to seeing all the different insights which is why I like people to post before reading blog postings on a section. .....In the reading, I thought that the finding of the cross in the midst of tragedy was powerful and is something that a living faith can help us do.

It's amazing how we all picked up on the message of the Cross.
