Elaine on Chapters 3, 4, and 5

Please excuse me if this appears twice.  I don't know what I did the first time, but it seems to have disappeared.

Whatever our preferred methods of prayer, whether it be formal, mental, or spontaneous, they all strengthen our relationship with God and make us more God-like as we strive to emulate Him.  Simply put, "Prayer is meant to be an uncomplicated gesture of love" per Joyce Rupp.  I have a little prayer that I say every evening and it starts out with "Jesus, I know that when I can't pray, you listen to my heart".  I find this very comforting.
One Sunday, the priest was discussing that people sometimes say that they don't have time to pray.  He said that the more we pray, the more time you will have time to pray.  How true!

Elaine: On a practical side, Carol has also had some problems with having her posts "disappear" once she hit send so I suggest you copy and paste it into an email or word document until you see your note is actually posted. This is easier than reconstructing it. ... It is great that you have been able to catch up so quickly.
As for commenting on the blog, Rupp's definition of prayer, that you gave, is beautiful. ... I have also heard the quote that the busier once is the more they need prayer. .... Have you read many of Rupp's books? I have only read the one she wrote on the Camino. I read it prior to walking the Camino last year.
